Our Story… So Far!

As a young girl, often times I would go during summer vacations to visit my grandmother. I have always been able to think back to those visits and remember her waking me up to come have breakfast. More often than not, she had a jar of her homemade apple butter ready with a spoon inviting me to spread its sweet goodness over my fresh toast or warm biscuit. I would pick up the jar and smell the spicy aroma tasting its unmistakable flavor before it ever made it to my lips.

As well, having an apple butter sandwich for a snack was always a sweet treat at these visits or when she had sent us home with several jars to enjoy.

When I got a little bigger, there came many special times with her in the kitchen, when she began sharing her family recipes that had been passed down through the generations. It is because of her teaching me how to make our apple butter that our family has been able to continue to enjoy its goodness long after her passing, and now we are able to share it with you. She truly was an amazing Kentucky Lady.

Years later, I began giving a jar of our apple butter and a homemade loaf of bread as Christmas gifts to special friends. From then on, as soon as they heard I was making apple butter, they would insist on getting a jar or two, or three.... and continued to tell me with each cooking that it was so good, and that I needed to be selling it. As they began giving it as gifts and sharing it with people they knew, those people would want more and had to have some to share, and I soon realized I was not going to be able to produce enough in my own kitchen to meet the increasing demand. It was time to consider getting into the marketplace. It took a bit but we finally took that big leap of faith and here we are sharing this wonderful Apple Butter and other products with so many people.

We hope that your family will come to love and enjoy Kentucky Lady's Apple Butter products for many years, and that they will become part of your family's special memory making traditions.
